ATHABASCA ARCHIVES

The Athabasca Archives were established for the purpose of preserving and making available for research, materials containing historical evidence about the Town of Athabasca, County of Athabasca, and related regions.

The Archives collection consists of a complete microfilmed set of newspapers published in Athabasca from 1909 to the present, textual records, photographs, maps, blueprints, sound and moving images, a small reference library, yearbooks and artifacts. Donations to the Archives are encouraged.
 

Part of the Athabasca Archives collection has been described on Archives Network of Alberta (ANA) database. Eventually, the entire collection will be available online. The address is: www.athabascaarchives.ca

You can also visit http://digiport.athabascau.ca/townarchives. This site has 1600 photographs, 58 hours of audio and 40 cm of textual material digitized.

The Athabasca Archives is located adjacent to the Alice B. Donahue Library and is open during the following times:

Tuesdays and Thursdays: 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by appointment.
